Who we are

Cheryl's House of Hope is a 501c3 non-profit organization in Chillicothe, OH made up of women-helping-women as they rebuild their lives in the wake of addiction. We focus on addressing challenges that are often unique to women during recovery.

Recent studies show that men and women respond differently to drugs and that addiction isn’t always the same for women as it is for men. While men tend to start using drugs earlier in life and in larger quantities, women become addicted more quickly and are more likely to relapse after treatment. The negative impact of addiction on health, employment, social ties, and financial stability also tends to be more severe for women than for men. While scientific reasons for these differences are still being researched, there is a very evident need for services that address distinctive circumstances that women in recovery may face such as sexual, physical, and mental abuse, child care and custody issues, and mental illnesses which affect women at much higher rates than men.

Our goal is to fill gaps in recovery services that affect women in our community. We are mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and friends all united in a path toward building new lives that are free from the destructive forces of addiction.

Cheryl's House of Hope is committed to helping women heal from addiction.

We ALL have a chance to make things right and move forward to a better life.
